North Natomas Jibe is a nonprofit organization whose goal is to help the community rely on more sustainable modes of transportation, such as walking, biking, and taking the bus. Formerly known as NNTMA, or the North Natomas Transportation Management Association, Jibe offers multiple programs and opportunities to support people who want to choose more sustainable transportation.
For example, Jibe has an Earn-A-Bike program where participants can earn up to $500 toward a new bike or gear. Jibe also sets up bike racks and bike repair stations across Natomas and works to improve poor-quality roads and intersections throughout the community.
Furthermore, Jibe frequently hosts events and opportunities such as Saddle Up Saturdays, where riders can receive a free gift card for biking to local restaurants. Other programs include bike repair workshops, vanpools, free SacRT rides, group rides, and free basic bike repairs and tune-ups.
However, what makes Jibe truly special is that most of its services, programs, and events are usually free. By making sustainable transportation more accessible, Jibe shows that it is committed to supporting the community and helping people choose healthier, more environmentally friendly ways to travel.
