I would like to share an update on the activity from the past week. We also attended many community meetings throughout the North Command and appreciate the input from the community and continued commitment to ensure a safe community for all.
Saturday, May 17th @ 9:20 am | Community Engagement | 1700 block of Arden Way (Protein House)
Thank you to the owner of Protein House for inviting Sac PD to a “Cops & Coffee event. The morning was a great success, and it was great connecting with everyone.
Saturday, May 17th @ 2:24 pm | Firearm Arrest | Morey Avenue & Knightlinger Street /
Officers conducted an enforcement stop and probation search of a vehicle. They located a stolen firearm and arrested one individual without incident.
Saturday, May 17th @ 8:05 pm | Destructive Device | 2600 block of Del Paso Blvd
An apparent improvised explosive device was located in a residential backyard and reported to PD. Sac PD EOD officers responded to collect the device for safe disposal.
Saturday, May 17th @ 10:29 pm | Firearm Arrest | Dry Creek Road @ Roanoke Avenue
A vehicle passenger fled from officers on foot when they attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Multiple subjects ultimately fled from the car, and a rifle was observed in plain view inside the car. A second handgun was also found inside the car. One of the occupants (juvenile) was detained and booked at juvenile hall on related weapons charges.
Saturday, May 17th @ 11:58 pm | 300 block of El Camino Ave
Officers contacted and detained the driver of a vehicle. During their investigation they observed an AR-pistol inside the vehicle in plain view. The adult suspect was booked on several related weapons charges and resisting arrest.
Sunday, May 18th @ 10:15 pm | Sideshow Activity | Citywide
A group of cars grew to approx. 200 to 300 in number and were reportedly driving recklessly and gathering around in a parking lot on Power Inn near Watt Ave. Officers followed the group, conducted multiple traffic stops, and issued two citations.
Monday, May 19th @ 8:36 am | Business Burglary | 2100 block of River Plaza Drive
Officers responded to a burglary report where four office spaces were broken into. An investigation was conducted, and information was distributed to officers.
Monday, May 19th @ 2:58 pm | Assault | 100 block of Village Cir
The 17-year-old suspect involved in a family dispute threw a knife at the responding officer’s patrol vehicle. The young man was uncooperative and fled on foot but was detained nearby. The suspect was booked on related charges.
Monday, May 19th @ 4:23 pm | Firearm Arrest | Englewood Street & Bell Avenue
The suspect exited his residence and allegedly discharged a firearm in the air. A nearby elementary school went into lockdown as a precaution after hearing the shots. Officers responded and the suspect ultimately safely surrendered. The firearm was seized, and the suspect was booked for related charges and a felony warrant.
Monday, May 19th @ 4:31 pm | Arrest | 2500 block of Rio Linda Blvd
A suspect wanted for a felony warrant, and firearm history, fled and was detained by SPD K9. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment before being booked on related charges.
Tuesday, May 20th @ 4:17 pm | Shots | 4700 block of Marysville Blvd
SPD received several calls advising they heard gunshots being fired at this location. Officers did not locate any evidence of a shooting, and no one was reported to be injured.
Tuesday, May 20th @ 9:35 pm | Assault | 1500 block of W. El Camino Avenue
Officers arrived to a report of a shooting and found a female victim with multiple gunshot injuries. GSWs. The victim was transported to the hospital, and her injuries were non-life threatening. The investigation is ongoing.
Wednesday, May 21st @ 11:11 am | Suspicious Circumstances | 100 block of Sports Pkwy
An Officer was diving in the area when a subject ran in front of the patrol car. Thankfully the officer was able to stop in time. The subject continued to act unusual and ultimately threw rocks at the officer’s car. None of the rocks struck the vehicle or the officer and the man was place on a hold.
Wednesday, May 21st @ 3:59 pm | Stolen Vehicle Arrest | 1100 block of Athena Avenue
Officers were alerted by a Police Observation Device (POD) that a stolen vehicle was being driven in the area. They located the vehicle occupied and safely detained the driver who was arrested and booked on related charges.
