These are the most recent significant arrests / incidents that have occurred in Police Districts 1 and 2:

Shooting and Firearm Arrest – 100 block of Cathcart Avenue
Friday, December 27th at 11:56 p.m.
A caller reported that two suspects were shooting a handgun in a field. Responding officers located the suspects and safely detained them. The suspects were in possession of two handguns (see photo). The caliber of these firearms matched the casings that were located from the original caller. Both suspects were arrested on related charges.

Burglary of a Business – 3500 block of Del Paso Road
Saturday, December 28th at 8:31 a.m.
Officers responded to a burglary of a business. Responding officers determined that a suspect broke a glass window, then entered the business and stole merchandise, then fled the area. A thorough canvas was completed and the investigation is ongoing.

Arrest for Narcotic Sales – Raley Boulevard and Diesel Drive
Saturday, December 28th at 1:30 p.m.
A police officer was patrolling the area and contacted a subject (suspect) inside a vehicle. A computer check showed this suspect to be a registered sex offender. The suspect was in possession of 20 grams of amphetamines and live ammunition. The suspect was arrested for narcotics sales.

Firearm Arrest – Display Way and Taylor Street
Sunday, December 29th at 11:24 p.m.
Officers observed a subject and recognized him as being on probation. The subject (suspect) was safely detained and officers completed a search of his RV. Inside his RV, officers located a loaded short barrel rifle (see photo). The suspect was arrested on related charges.

Felony Assault – Kelton Way and Cappucino Way
Sunday, December 29th at 3:54 p.m.
Officers responded to the area due to a report of a victim being assaulted by multiple suspects. Responding officers contacted the victim and he had non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving. Officers completed a thorough canvas and the investigation is ongoing.

Robbery – 1500 block of West El Camino Avenue
Sunday, December 29th at 11:17 p.m.
A female suspect entered a business and stole several items, then exited the store. Employees attempted to stop the suspect. When confronted, the suspect vandalized the business and threatened the employees. Responding officers located the suspect nearby and she was safely detained, then arrested on related charges.

Domestic Violence Arrest – 2100 block of Canterbury Road
Monday, December 30th at 2:18 p.m.
Officers responded to a residence due to a domestic violence incident. The female victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The male suspect sustained injuries and was arrested after being medically cleared for his injuries.

Shooting Investigation – 2500 block of Oakmont Street
Tuesday, December 31st at 7:58 p.m.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation. Responding officers located significant evidence that confirmed a shooting occurred. There were no reported injuries as a result of the shooting. Officers completed a thorough canvas of the area, and the investigation is ongoing.

Shooting Investigation – 900 block of Carmel Street
Wednesday, January 1st at 1:42 a.m.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation. Responding officers located significant evidence that confirmed a shooting occurred. There were no reported injuries as a result of the shooting. Officers completed a thorough canvas of the area, and the investigation is ongoing.

Robbery Arrest – Auburn Boulevard and Frienza Avenue
Wednesday, January 1st at 9:42 a.m.
A victim was robbed in the area of personal property. Officers received information on a potential suspect and safely detained him. This suspect was arrested for robbery and the victim’s property was recovered.

Assault on a Firefighter – 2300 block of Mossy Bank Drive
Thursday, January 2nd at 5:00 a.m.
Officers responded to assist fire personnel with a combative subject (suspect). During the struggle, the suspect assaulted a firefighter. The suspect was cited for the assault.

Auto Theft Arrest – 4000 block of Norwood Avenue
Thursday, December 2nd at 11:35 p.m.
Officers located a stolen vehicle in the area. The driver was safely detained and arrested for auto theft.
