Information from the Sacramento Police Department North Command

These are the most recent significant arrests/incidents that have occurred in Police Districts 1 and 2:

Sideshow – Northgate Boulevard and Wisconsin Avenue
Sunday, December 15th at 1:02 a.m.
Dispatch received information regarding a side show happening in the area. Responding officers arrived and observed over 100 vehicles gathering in the area, with many drivers traveling recklessly.

Vehicle Pursuit – Northview Drive and West El Camino Avenue
Sunday, December 15th at 1:09 a.m.
Officers attempted to stop an involved vehicle at the sideshow and the driver (suspect) fled from officers. A vehicle pursuit was initiated. During the pursuit, the suspect crashed. The occupants were safely detained, and the driver was arrested for related charges.

Vehicle Pursuit – Northgate Boulevard and Winterhaven Drive
Sunday, December 15th at 1:19 a.m.
Officers attempted to stop a reckless driver in the area of the sideshow. The driver (suspect) fled from officers and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. Eventually, the suspect pulled over. Officers safely detained the suspect, and he was arrested for evading. Additionally, the involved vehicle was impounded.

Vehicle Pursuit – Taylor Street and Jessie Avenue
Sunday, December 15th at 3:54 a.m.
A patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle involved in the sideshow. The driver (suspect) fled from officers and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. Due to the suspect traveling recklessly, officers discontinued pursuing the suspect.

Firearm Arrest – Arena Boulevard and Gateway Park Boulevard
Sunday, December 15th at 3:43 p.m.
A patrol officer made a traffic stop in the area. One occupant in the vehicle was in possession of two loaded firearms (see photo). This passenger was arrested on related charges.

Homicide Investigation and Arrest – 1600 block of Scarlet Ash Avenue
Monday, December 17th at 11:12 p.m.

Shooting Investigation – 3700 block of Taylor Street
Tuesday, December 18th at 10:17 p.m.
Officers responded to the area due to a ShotSpotter activation. Responding officers completed a thorough canvas and located significant evidence that confirmed a shooting occurred. A fence of a residence was struck by gunfire. There we no reported injuries as a result of the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

Grand Theft Arrest – 3800 block of N. Freeway Boulevard
Wednesday, December 18th at 2:12 p.m.
Officers responded to the area due to a bait tag being stolen from a business. Responding officers tracked the bait tag and the suspect was in possession of approximately $3,000 in stolen merchandise. The suspect was safely detained and arrested for grand theft.

Foot Pursuit of Wanted Suspect – North Avenue and Winters Street
Wednesday, December 18th at 3:18 p.m.
Officers observed a suspect wanted on a felony warrant. The suspect fled from officers. A foot pursuit was initiated but the suspect got away. A perimeter was established in an attempt to locate the suspect. After an extensive search, officers were unable to locate the suspect

Shooting Investigation – 2600 block of Fairfield Street
Thursday, December 19th at 6:34 p.m.
Officers responded to the area due to a ShotSpotter activation. Additionally, there was a caller reporting that a shooting occurred. Responding officers located a male adult shooting victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officers completed a thorough canvas of the area to look for evidence and witnesses. The investigation is ongoing.

Firearm Arrest – 2600 block of Fairfield Street
Thursday, December 19th at 10:00 p.m.
While completing follow-up on the shooting scene that occurred earlier in the night (at 6:34 p.m.), officers contacted a subject (suspect) who matched the description of the shooter. This suspect was in possession of a rifle (see photo). The suspect was safely detained. Additional follow-up investigation was completed on the shooting and the suspect was arrested for firearm charges. There will be additional investigation to determine if this was the suspect in the shooting.

Burglary of a Business Arrest – 1700 block of Arden Way
Thursday, December 19th at 11:25 p.m.
A business was burglarized and the suspect stole merchandise while inside. Responding officers completed follow-up investigation and identified the suspect, then located him. The suspect was safely detained and then arrested for burglary.
