Keeping You Informed – Information from the Sacramento Police Department North Command

These are the most recent significant incidents / arrests that have occurred in Police Districts 1 and 2:

Firearm Arrest – Beaumont Street and Dixieanne Avenue
Saturday, October 26th at 3:15 a.m.
Officers initiated a traffic stop and a passenger (suspect) in the vehicle took off running. Officers gave chase and while running, the suspect threw a handgun. The suspect was safely detained. Officers recovered the firearm (see photo) and determined that both the passenger and driver were responsible for the handgun. Both suspects were arrested.

Homicide Investigation – 2000 block of West El Camino Avenue
Sunday, October 27th at 11:00 p.m.

Robbery of a Business – 2500 block of Del Paso Boulevard
Monday, October 28th at 9:54 a.m.
Two male suspects entered a business. One suspect was armed with a firearm. The suspects stole money from the business and then fled on foot. Officers completed a thorough canvas of the area and the investigation is ongoing.

Foot Pursuit – 3600 block of Northgate Boulevard
Tuesday, October 29th at 2:15 p.m.
Officers responded to a business parking lot due to a report of a suspect looking into vehicles. Responding officers located the suspect and he immediately fled on foot. Officers gave chase and safely detained the suspect. A computer check showed the suspect to have a warrant out for his arrest. The suspect was arrested on the warrant.

Arrest of Wanted Suspect – Lampasas Avenue and Del Paso Boulevard
Tuesday, October 29th at 7:25 p.m.
A patrol officer observed a suspect he recognized to have a felony warrant. The suspect was uncooperative and walked away from the officer but was safely detained and arrested on the warrant.

Business Robbery – East Commerce Way and New Market Drive
Tuesday, October 29th at 8:44 p.m.
A suspect robbed a taco stand. The suspect was armed with a firearm. After the robbery, the suspect fled the scene. Responding officers completed a thorough canvas of the area and the investigation is ongoing.

Business Robbery – 3800 block of Northgate Boulevard
Tuesday, October 29th at 9:05 p.m.
A suspect robbed a taco stand. The suspect was armed with a firearm. After the robbery, the suspect fled the scene. Responding officers completed a thorough canvas of the area and the investigation is ongoing.

Robbery Arrest – 2400 block of Northgate Boulevard
Wednesday, October 30th at 11:34 p.m.
While patrolling in the area, officers observed two suspects assaulting a male. The officers went to make contact with the suspects and they both fled on foot. While running, one suspect threw a gun over a fence (see photo). A computer check on this gun showed it was reported to be stolen. Officers learned that the suspects were actively robbing the male victim. Both suspects were arrested on robbery and firearm charges.

Firearm Arrest – Disk Drive and Morrison Avenue
Thursday, October 31st at 7:57 a.m.
Officers responded to a suspicious report of two subjects sleeping inside a vehicle. Officers contacted the two occupants, and they were uncooperative. A computer check showed one occupant (suspect) to have two felony warrants. The suspect was safely detained and in possession of loaded firearm (see photo). The suspect was arrested on firearm charges and the two felony warrants.

Domestic Violence and Arson – 2800 block of Norwood Avenue
Thursday, October 31st at 3:36 p.m.
A male suspect assaulted a female victim during a domestic violence incident, then the suspect lit a tent on fire, with the victim inside. The suspect fled the scene after committing these crimes. Fortunately, the victim was not injured. Officers completed a thorough canvas and notified fire investigators. The investigation is ongoing.

Domestic Violence and Firearm Arrest – 300 block of Barrette Avenue
Thursday, October 31st at 5:31 p.m.
A male suspect assaulted a female victim during a domestic violence incident, while armed with a handgun. The male barricaded himself inside a tent and refused to exit. Officers set up a perimeter and SWAT responded to safely resolve the incident. While SWAT was on scene, the suspect exited the tent and was safely detained after a less lethal weapon was used. Officers recovered the suspect’s firearm (see photo). The suspect was arrested on related charges.

Burglary of a Business – 2000 block of Arena Boulevard
Friday, November 1st at 6:35 a.m.
A business was burglarized, and the suspect(s) stole money during the burglary. Officers completed a thorough canvas of the area and the investigation is ongoing.
