Firearm Arrest – 1800 block of Grand Avenue
Saturday, August 3rd @ 9:05 a.m.
Officers were dispatched to a police-call-for-service involving a man attempting to enter a vacant apartment. The man was on searchable probation and found to be in possession of a firearm. He was arrested for related charges.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest – Jessie Avenue & Norwood Avenue
Saturday, August 3rd @ 1:49 p.m.
Officers were alerted by a Police Observation Device (POD) that a stolen vehicle was being driven in the area. The driver was safely detained after the vehicle pulled into a gas station. The person was arrested for the related charge.

Carjacking Investigation – Lexington Street & Dixieanne Avenue
Saturday, August 3rd @ 7:08 p.m.
The female victim and male suspect are recent acquaintances. Today, the male half reportedly took the female’s vehicle at gunpoint. The incident was documented and the investigation is ongoing.

Warrant Arrest – 3200 block of Bozeman Street
Sunday, August 4th @ 12:30 a.m.
An officer observed a subject known to have a felony warrant. When the officer attempted to detain the man, he physically assaulted the officer and ran away. The wanted person was eventually located and booked into jail without further incident for related charges.

Pursuit – 2800 block of Grove Avenue
Sunday, August 4th @ 2:55 a.m.
Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop of a subject riding a small non-street legal motorcycle. The rider fled through a levee pedestrian gate and was unable to be located.

Felony Assault Arrest – 2200 block of Yorkshire Road
Sunday, August 4th @ 5:43 a.m.
Officers responded to a police-call-for-service regarding an assault between roommates. One party struck the other with a blunt object and officers safely detained and arrested the assailant. The victim was transported and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Felony Assault investigation – 900 block of Del Paso Blvd
Sunday, August 4th @ 4:20 a.m.
Officers responded to the above area regarding an assault. The victim was sleeping in his tent when he was assaulted by another male. The victim was not seriously injured, and the investigation continues.

Medical Aid – E Levee Road & W El Camino Avenue
Sunday, August 4th @ 7:58 a.m.
A passerby reported seeing a possibly injured person. When Officer arrived, they quickly administered Narcan to the un-responsive subject. The subject regained consciousness.

Vehicle Accident – 600 block of Fulton Avene
Sunday, August 4th @ 1:16 p.m.
A small airplane made an emergency landing in the above area. No one on the ground or the pilot (solo occupant) was injured. SPD secured the scene for the safety of the public until the plane was removed for further investigation by NTSB.

Shooting investigations – 2500 block of Millcreek Drive
Sunday, August 4th @ 1:39 p.m.
Sacramento Police Dispatch received a negligent discharge of a firearm report. Officers arrived, and contacted the involved parties and located a firearm. Evidence of the shooting were collected, and one person was arrested for related weapons charges. No one was injured.

Vehicle Pursuit – El Camino Avenue & Taft Street
Sunday, August 4th @ 7:20 p.m.
An officer attempted to conduct a traffic enforcement stop and the vehicle immediately fled. During the pursuit, the suspect’s car was involved in a solo vehicle collision and the driver fled on foot. The man was detained by the officer without incident and arrested on related charges.

Shooting Investigation – 1600 bock of Rosalind Street
Sunday, August 4th @ 7:58 p.m.
A resident reported her home was struck with gunfire. No one was in the residence at the time, and no injuries were reported. A thorough preliminary investigating was completed.

Vehicle Pursuit – I-80 & Marysville Boulevard
Monday, August 5th @ 2:22 a.m.
A short vehicle pursuit ensured when an officer attempted to stop a car for an equipment violation. The district sergeant terminated the pursuit.

Vandalism – 3500 block of Marysville Boulevard
Monday, August 5th @ 6:30 a.m.
A subject vandalized the front of the Kinney Police Facility with a blunt object. The man was located a two days later, and positively identified via surveillance footage of the incident. He was charged with felony vandalism.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest – Norwood Avenue & Silver Eagle Road
Monday, August 5th @ 4:09 p.m.
A police observation device indicated a stolen vehicle was recently in this intersection. Officers responded, located the car in a nearby gas station, and arrested the driver without incident for related charges.

Robbery Arrest – Halo Avenue & Vosspark Way
Tuesday, August 6th @ 6:58 p.m.
The victim agreed to sell clothing to an unknown person they met online. The victim was robbed of the clothing at the arranged meeting spot. Officers quickly followed up and located several subjects believed to be related to the incident. One juvenile was positively identified and arrested for robbery. Much of the stolen clothing was recovered.

Prowler – 500 block of Woodlake Drive
Wednesday, August 7th @ 10:41 a.m.
Officers responded to the above residence for a report of a male subject prowling in the neighborhood. Officers responded and detained the man in a backyard. The man was detained after a brief struggle with officers and arrested for resisting charges.

Vehicle Pursuit – Northgate Boulevard & Arden Garden Connector
Wednesday, August 7th @ 11:24 p.m.
Officers attempted to conduct an enforcement stop of a moped for equipment violations. The rider refused to stop and eventually fell off the bike during the pursuit. The suspect was booked on related charges.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest – Dixieanne Avenue & Empress Street
Thursday, August 8th @ 3:32 p.m.
Officers conducted an enforcement stop and discovered the vehicle was a reported stolen car. The driver was safely detained and arrested for related charges.

Burglary Arrest – 700 block of Redwood Avenue
Thursday, August 8th @ 4:13 p.m.
Officers were dispatched to the area when a resident reported seeing an unknown male adult inside their home via surveillance while they were out. Officers spotted the man outside the home, who fled from officers by quickly taken into custody without incident. The subject was arrested for related charges and an active felony warrant.

Vandalism – 2200 block of Northgate Blvd
Friday, August 9th @ 1:19 a.m.
Officers detained a subject for punching vehicles in the apartment parking lot. The subject became resistive and had to be placed in max restraints. The man was booked for multiple related charges.

Stolen Vehicle Arrest – Auburn Boulevard & Glenrose Avenue
Friday, August 9th @ 3:27 a.m.
A stolen vehicle was scanned by Police Observation Device. An officer located the vehicle in the neighborhood and arrested the driver without incident.

Arrest – 3700 block of Po River Way
Friday, August 9th @ 7:55 a.m.
Officers responded to the area for reports a wanted subject who was inside a residence. The subject refused to answer the door for police. The man eventually peacefully surrendered after speaking with an officer from Crisis Negotiation Team over the phone. The suspect was arrested without incident.

Keeping You Informed – Information from the Sacramento Police Department North Command

As I shared last week, in partnership with the Sacramento Fire Department, we are expanding the use of our drones for a trial period. Here is the press release that was sent out:

Sacramento Police Launch Drone First Responder Trial Program
The Sacramento Police Department (SPD), in partnership with the Sacramento Fire Department (SFD), will begin a Drone First Responder (DFR) Trial Program. This innovative program utilizes small uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), or drones, to respond to calls for service from a fixed location. The drones will provide critical overwatch before first responders arrive on scene, verify information, and assist in area searches. By integrating drones into public safety response, the program aims to enhance community service and potentially reduce response times.
The DFR Trial Program will begin on Wednesday, November 20th and will operate in the Del Paso Heights area of Sacramento. Using a data-driven approach, the program is designed to assess call volume, crime patterns, and current patrol use. During the trial, SPD employees will work Wednesday through Saturday, from 10 AM to 8 PM, with drones covering a two-mile response radius. The location was carefully chosen to limit intrusion into airport flight paths and other airspace concerns.
Throughout the trial period, DFR drones may be dispatched alongside or in place of emergency personnel. This will supplement SPD’s Air Operations Unit. The program will track response times, workload, and overall customer service, which will help inform the future use of drone technology in Sacramento’s public safety efforts.
Sacramento Police Department’s UAS Team has been in operation since 2019 and consists of 24 certified pilots. In 2024, the team has supported over 170 emergency calls, conducting more than 573 drone flights. Committed to adopting the latest technology, the City of Sacramento ensures that privacy and transparency remain a priority. All flight data from the DFR program will be made available to the public through the City’s UAS transparency page, accessible here: https://app.airdata.com/u/spduas.
The results of the DFR Trial Program will be reviewed by both the SPD and SFD to evaluate the potential for broader implementation in Sacramento’s public safety operations.

These are the most recent significant incidents / arrests in Police Districts 1 and 2:

Firearm Arrest – Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard
Friday, November 15th at 11:54 p.m.
Officers initiated a traffic stop for a driver speeding. During the traffic stop, a passenger inside the vehicle was in possession of a firearm (see photo). This passenger was arrested on firearm charges.
Firearm Arrest – Branch Street and Alamos Avenue
Saturday, November 16th at 1:12 a.m.
A patrol officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop and the driver (suspect) parked, then immediately fled on foot. The suspect left a loaded handgun inside the vehicle (see photo). A perimeter was established and the suspect was located. Officers safely detained the suspect, then arrested him for firearm related charges.

Arrest of Wanted Suspect – 900 block of Macarther Street
Saturday, November 16th at 9:32 p.m.
Officers responded to a residence due to a report of a shooting. Responding officers detained multiple people at the residence. A computer check showed one subject to have a felony warrant. There was no evidence of a shooting. Officers did locate replica firearms. The subject with the felony warrant was arrested.

Robbery – 2100 block of River Plaza Drive
Monday, November 18th at 3:01 a.m.
Officers responded to the area due to a report of a person being robbed. Responding officers determined that the victim was robbed of his wallet, after being pistol whipped numerous times. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Officers completed a canvas and the investigation is ongoing.

Foot Pursuit and Arrest of Wanted Suspect – 700 block of Dixieanne Avenue
Tuesday, November 19th at 4:29 p.m.
A wanted suspect ran from officers. After a short foot pursuit, a perimeter was established and the suspect was located. Officers safely detained the suspect and arrested him on his felony warrant.

Business Burglary – 3600 block of Truxel Road
Tuesday, November 19th at 1:52 a.m.
A business was burglarized. While inside the business, the suspect(s) stole approximately $3,000 in merchandise. Responding officers completed a thorough canvas and the investigation is ongoing.

Tuesday, November 19th at 6:19 p.m.

Tuesday, November 19th at 7:43 p.m.
Officers responded to a residence due to a report of a shooting. Responding officers determined that the house was struck by gunfire. There were no reported injuries. A thorough canvas was completed and the investigation is ongoing.

Auto Theft Arrest – East Commerce Way and North Park Drive
Wednesday, November 20th at 7:42 a.m.
Officers located a stolen vehicle in the area. A traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was safely detained, then arrested for auto theft.

Stabbing Investigation – 900 block of Macarthur Street
Wednesday, November 20th at 12:41 a.m.
A stabbing victim arrived at an area hospital. The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury. Officers completed follow-up investigation and determined that the stabbing occurred at a residence in the 900 block of Macarthur Street. Officers completed a thorough canvas in the area and the investigation is ongoing.

Vehicle Pursuit – Truxel Road and West El Camino
Wednesday, November 20th at 12:41 a.m.
Officers located a stolen vehicle in the area. The driver (suspect) started to make evasive maneuvers as the officers were preparing to initiate a traffic stop. The suspect fled from officers and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The suspect drive onto a dead-end street, then fled on foot from the vehicle. Officers chased the suspect and caught him, then safely detained him. He was arrested for auto theft and evading.

Shooting Investigation – 4400 block of Baumgart Way
Wednesday, November 20th at 9:45 p.m.
Officers responded to a residence in the area due to a report of a shooting. There were no reported injuries as a result of the shooting. Officers confirmed that the residence was struck by gunfire. A thorough canvas was completed and the investigation is ongoing.

Burglary Arrest – 2200 block of Del Paso Boulevard
Thursday, November 21st at 3:48 a.m.
Officers responded to a burglary at a business with an employee chasing a suspect after the crime had been committed. Responding officers safely detained the suspect. Officers determined that the suspect had stolen approximately $1,000 worth of items from the business. The suspect was arrested for burglary.
