Enhanced Open Data Portal Now Live: Empowering Communities with Advanced Crime Mapping Technology

For Immediate Release June 28, 2024

Enhanced Open Data Portal Now Live: Empowering Communities with Advanced Crime Mapping Technology The Sacramento Police Department is excited to announce the launch of our enhanced Open Data Portal and Community Crime Map.

As part of our dedication to transparency, we provide public access to a wide range of records that are readily available for dissemination. By providing this data to the public we empower residents to actively engage in crime prevention efforts and collaborate with the Sacramento Police Department to enhance public safety.

These tools serve as a catalyst for fostering meaningful dialogue and partnership between the community and law enforcement, driving collective action towards safer neighborhoods. Both platforms offer the ability to empower community members to retrieve information on call types and volumes, as well as reports filed.

Additionally, a mapping tool is available for visualizing these datasets. While citation data is accessible, it does not include a mapping feature. Both tools offer valuable insights into crime trends within specific areas of the city. We encourage community members to explore and utilize these resources.
